Toronto Blue Jays Claim World Series Showdown Against the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays reached their maiden championship series following 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the final game seven of the ALCS.

Trailing three runs to one, the star outfielder hit a three-run home run in the seventh frame, leading the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series triumph in the series. Awaiting them are the Dodgers, who are the defending champions, in the upcoming championship.

"I'm just so happy for everyone here, the city, Canada," commented Springer, a star of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 World Series. "It's truly an amazing experience."

Springer has now hit 23 October home runs, ranking him third on the list behind Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (27).

"There's probably not another player in the world that I want up in that moment except for Springer with his playoff prowess," said Schneider.

The Mariners, after leading the early in the series, are still the one club that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "there's no question that it's painful" in the wake of his team's loss at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but commended their performance in the campaign.

"This is a unique group. Sadly that we ended up on the unsuccessful side of the series," he remarked.

The Blue Jays won the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and will host the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
